As an Esthetician at Glow Beauty Boutique and a Freelance Makeup Artist, I meet a lot of brides. One of the biggest things I hear from them is that they are unhappy with their skin for various reasons.
It is really important to take care of your skin before your big day to ensure you have a flawless makeup application. Great makeup starts with a great canvas and while preparing for your big day can seem overwhelming, here are some great tips to save you time and have you looking your best on your wedding day!
Address major skin issues – Deal with any chronic skin problems early, skin problems do not go away overnight!
Wax, tweeze, get rid of it! – Eliminate unwanted hair and don’t wait till the last minute if you are not a regular waxer. The last thing you want is to have a bad reaction before the honeymoon!!
Pamper and refresh– Rejuvenate your skin with Microdermabrasion or Chemical Peels. They can help even your skin tone, diminish fine lines and wrinkles as well as leave your skin soft and glowing. Don’t forget your neck, chest and back if your dress is low-cut.
Fake lashes for extra drama – Don’t be afraid of false lashes!! You won’t have to worry about raccoon eyes if you get emotional during the ceremony and your eyes will be perfectly framed. If you’re considering lash extensions consult your esthetician to see if you are a good candidate.
Go pro for the big day – Think about your makeup. If you are in need of offsite makeup services be sure to consult someone when you pick your date. Makeup artists start booking weddings sometimes years in advance. Discuss the look you are trying to achieve and bring pictures of makeup you love. A makeup trial is SO important. You may think you l-o-v-e a certain look then see it on you and change your mind. You spend so much on pictures and your wedding video, having your makeup done professionally will ensure your happiness for years to come!
