Martha and Josh were married on October 17, 2015 at a Pocasett, MA private residence in Cape Cod. Both the ceremony and reception were personal and quaint with a little over 40 guests in attendance. This was a destination wedding for the two Oregon residents and a preview for their awaited move back to New England later in the year. Here’s their wedding story… The Decor: Simple table decor of gold mercury glass votives and golden dipped sugar pumpkins adorned the burlap table runners (made by the bride), along with the small but fanciful Whim Floral Design centerpiece arrangements. The early autumn nautical color palette consisted of ivory, soft amber yellow, gold and navy blue. The Cuisine: What’s a real Cape-Cod wedding without a clambake?! Keeping the wedding as authentically “New England” as possible Clambakes Ect. provided the delicious seaside cuisine with tasty appetizers and a pot-style dinner of clam chowder, clams, steak, chicken, corn and potatoes. The Favors: Bags of gourmet popcorn and daisy seeds (ordered by the bride) tied with DIY tags (made by the bride) were set out as guest favors at the wedding. These offerings had sentimental meaning to the bride and family and added another personal touch to the already beautifully intimate gathering. The Florist: Whim Floral Design The bridal party carried bouquets of roses, thistle, dahlias and dusty miller! The reception tables were adorned with small but impactful glass jar and bottle centerpieces of mixed roses and feverfew, as well as, groupings of thistle, dahlias and brunia. The Dessert: At lolagraceEVENTS, we applaud the uber non-traditional details. Pumpkin and apple pies provided by Petsi Pies in Somerville, MA took the place of the expected over-frosted white wedding cake.
