Weddings are celebrations. So with that in mind, you should be excited, not stressed- especially if you’re the bride! To be a ‘Fun Bride,’ complete trust needs to be given to your planner. That’s the reason why you hired her in the first place! A planner is there from square one to take any wedding related responsibilities off of your plate, curate your vision (usually through verbiage or pinterest inspo. boards) and manage every tiny detail on the wedding day. It is the planners job to make sure all of the logistics are perfected according to the plan. So, what qualities make up a ‘Fun Bride’? Read on, be inspired, take notes! Diana Channing Johnson Photography Location: deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum Infuse Style with Simplicity Diana was involved in nearly every aspect of the planning process- from designing the invitations and making the escort cards herself, to knowing exactly what local vendors she wanted to hire. Diana and Brian even had an untraditional ceremony, choosing to walk down the aisle together. With an anything goes attitude, the venue at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum was styled exquisitely with pop-of-color Trina Turk designer fabrics mixed with bright white linens and chairs. Simple glass, Lynzarium’s, succulent terrariums adorned the tables to add chic elements of shape and color among the white-walled gallery space. Oh, and we must not forget that the day-of-event art collections were not unveiled until about 6 weeks before the wedding! But Diana never fussed or lost her cool. With purpose, understated simplicity and style, her wedding truly represented her humanistic perspective. Jen Martin Haseman Photography Location: Hoosic Club Don’t be a Wallflower! When you’re someone who enjoys listening to music constantly or playing tunes for your friends at parties- you’ve got to make sure the music is on point at your own wedding! DJ Jenny Pop did exactly that. “We had a $25K budget and were able to stick to it. It is tough and you have to be able to compromise in certain areas. The areas where we cut back were floral arrangements, signature drinks for guests upon arrival instead of an open bar, invitations and not having a live band. You have to be able to stick to your vision but still be flexible. Figure out what is most important to you right off the bat, as well as where you want to allocate more money for flexibility just in case. Because in the end, you could always add more to everything. The thing that was important to my husband and I was the music and atmosphere and then food.”- antibrideJEN Letting the planners design the entire January off-season wedding, Jen took complete control of handling the music selection! From the beginning, she was extremely involved with Sheldon, of Epic Entertainment, to make sure he knew exactly the type of atmosphere that she wanted to create at her wedding. Additionally, Jenny even took over the DJ booth and entertained her guests! We think Jen was the ultimate ‘Fun Bride” and reminder to all the music-loving brides out there- don’t just get on the dance floor and hope for the best, PLAY YOUR MUSIC AND OWN THE DANCE FLOOR! Kathryn Oh Karina Photography Location: Artists For Humanity Use color. And more color. If you think you’re a ‘Fun Bride’ (like Kathryn) then don’t play it safe. Decorate your wedding with art and color, heck- have it at the Artists For Humanity building! This bride’s wedding was the epitome of fun and she was no different. Like many other ‘Fun Brides’, she gave the planners full control- providing the team with 2 inspiration images and letting them take it from there. The colorful results were anything but ordinary and one-of-kind beautiful! The best part was the energy on the dance floor and the FUN guests who filled it. Let us let you in on a little secret: DON’T be afraid to drink, DO go over the top, use color and last but not least, trust your planner! Better yet, “Trust me. You can dance.” – Tequila Vanessa Binita Patel Photography Location: State Room Go Out With A Bang Take notes from antibride Vanessa and steal the show on a night like New Years Eve. Vanessa and her husband Ken’s wedding was held at one of Boston’s most prestigious event venues, The State Room. It is important to remember while entertaining at a space so grand, not to be upstaged by the venue and to curate your wedding to represent you! Vanessa and Ken did exactly this. They were married at ballroom level, while their guest watched from above. The wedding table designs included sequins and metallics mixed with beautiful Dogwood Floral Designs and a mixture of black and white chairs. They partied and rang in the New Year with a view of the city’s fireworks show using the help of fun favors like NYE hats, balloons and glow sticks. Most of all (it’s a running trend with these ‘Fun Brides’) Vanessa stayed care-free at her wedding by putting complete trust into her planner!
