Hi again from your fave lolagraceTEAM – We hope you <3 our new blog series (we obvi do!), featuring our antibrides + antigrooms! Every couple we work with is different – and Nicole and JP were no exception. From their fun bowling rehearsal dinner, catered by Firefly BBQ to their Dunkin Donuts refueling station – antibrideNICOLE and antigroomJP successfully had fun but went traditional with an elegant, red-rose and lace decked out ceremony and reception.
The Facts! antibrideNICOLE, Capricornnnnn!! Occupation: Actor Hometown: Transplants! (recently moved to NYC from LA) —————————————————————————————————————————————— antigroomJP, 31 years young, Aries! Occupation: Actor Hometown: Amherst, NH ————————————————————————————————————————————————— Wedding Date: October 6, 2012 Location: Gate of Heaven Church, South Boston + Seaport World Trade Center for reception How was the honeymoon + where did you go? The honeymoon was AWESOME!! We went to Cozumel, Mexico. We spent the entire year leading up to our wedding apart, so we were pretty excited to have a whole week of uninterrupted alone time. In fact, we never left the resort š Best wedding gift you received? EACH OTHER!! (I know, I know! This sounds super cheesy but we donāt care…see above post about being apart for an entire year!) Also, the memories and joy that the celebration provided us and all our family and friends. Example: every single time I talk to my grandmother she reminisces about the wedding weekend and how wonderful it was. There may never be another occasion for all of those people to be together and celebrate something and JP and I feel so SO SO blessed and grateful that we got to experience that. Favorite part about being married? Nicole: That I get to journey through life with my āpersonā and experience unconditional love in a way that I never knew. JP: Being able to share everything with Nicole and that I get to come home to her everyday and knowing that no matter what she āgetsā me. Why did you choose lolagraceEVENTS? At the time of our engagement, we were living in Los Angeles but we knew that based on life/career happenings and the size of JPās New England based family our wedding would be in Boston. I was on tour and JP was working in Utah so we needed someone in Boston who could handle things for us. From my first convo with Rachael, I knew she was the person for the job š She was energetic, fun, creative, well connected with vendors etc. and she instantly had lots of ideas on how to infuse our personalities into a gigantic āhotelā wedding to make it reflect our style and feel truly unique. She had just the right blend of being cool and super chill yet professional! What was the best part of working with the lolagraceTEAM? lolagrace encouraged us to always keep dreaming up zany and off-the-wall ideas on how to make our wedding really personal. Sometimes Rach would have to reel us in because of cost but she almost always would come up with a more cost effective alternative. What surprised you most about the planning experience?: It was a bit more stressful than I had thought it was going to be…I am organized and detail oriented so I was always surprised when things didnāt go according to plan but then again I have never planned an event this large or emotional or expensive before š What surprised you most about the planning experience? How many little details there really are! Would you recommend a friend or family member to lolagraceEVENTS? Yesssssssssss! After having been through the āantibrideā experience, how would you explain it to other brides-to-be? Antibride=doing what you and your hubs actually want to do on your wedding day and not what society has dictated. Did you hold back on the wedding kiss? No way! How many wedding pictures did you frame? None, yet – we moved across the country and havenāt really gotten settled. * For a full list of vendor details, please contact hi@lolagraceEVENTS.com
